Portishead has major suburban energy for me. Portishead is very nice it is quiet but that's a reason to like it, it's a easy cruise into Bristol centre complete opposite to living in Bristol area. It's great! Great schools lovely high st and restaurants. It's a town for families really rather than singles.

I like it, it is very nice, plenty to do, but because the town is expanding so rapidly, public services (GP and it is predicted, school places) are overstreched. The only pub we go to is the Royal looking out to sea.

Beautiful place to live. The high street is diverse and not overly populated with charity shops like some. You have some nice walks along the coast path to Clevedon or around the nature reserve. Some of it is too densely populated for my liking, mostly around the marina and village quarter where all the new development is but that's personal taste.
